Part 7 of the Linz E-Government Strategy - Less successful free hotspots in Linz

Not very popular are the free-surf zones, which are operated by City of Linz in the city. Many Internet users refuse to hotspots in the city of Linz, because they simply have too much low download speed.

With a data transfer rate with only up to 768 kilobits per second, which is only about 0.7 Mbit / s , denied today in the 21st Century, every Internet user, this free offer from the city of Linz hotspot, because with this completely outdated and not modern Linzer Free Hotspot technology, an information gathering has become virtually impossible.

"The following tables have been modified with the key figures and factors
a" standard normal monthly, WLAN Hotspot Server History "adjusted for the variables" requests per month, number of visits per month, " "Unique Visitors", and "pages per month" up and expanded. "(2)

85 Unique visitors means that these visitors make the hotspots on Linz Train Station 210 times within 6 months of use, on average, probably 2 to 3 times, making this a free hotspot place not even for so-called "hotspot leader" in the Linz-free surfing zone. Even worse, the hot-spot jobs cut from the Tower of Knowledge. There, use 63 different visitors only 156 times the free surfing within half a year.

Looking at the monthly history of hotspot access at the main station so the "magic" access number drops from 16 683, down to 2781. This means that is used every month of the hot spot at the station 35 times from about 14 different users for free browsing.

Why did because the wireless strategists and officials thought the Linz Municipal Departments comfortable when the free-surf zones in the station district (hall, bus terminal and railway station car park) to the "hotspot leader" appointed, and these minimal access in the area the station and the knowledge storm, even placard as a very successful sale and want to be, probably every tax-paying and responsible citizens themselves can judge quite easily when the numbers look, and the so-called "free surfing" station district "as good how to call any site to which a hopelessly outdated and because this is the extremely slow "Linzer hotspot" technology does not allow.
